What is the Greenhouse effect?

We receive light and heat from the sun. It should be noted that one third of the rays of the sun are reflected back to the universe and only two third of the rays are actually absorbed by the Earth which warms the land. Much of this heat is radiated out into space and some of it is stored in the atmosphere. This is called the Greenhouse effect. This effect makes life on Earth possible. Without it, the Earth's temperature would've been too chilling for us to survive. "Global warming" refers to the rise in the Earth's temperature resulting from an increase in heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere.
Two major sources which contribute to Global Warming:- Use of fossil fuels and Deforestation.
